Liverpool City Region launches The Exporters’ Network

Liverpool City Region’s local authorities and chambers of commerce have joined forces with the UKTI and the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership to launch a new Exporters’ Network to help businesses in the City Region learn how to gain a foothold in new markets.

The launch will take place at a special ‘air side’ event at Liverpool John Lennon Airport on October 1st. The Exporters’ Network will provide a forum for potential exporters to take part in an export masterclass, get advice from support organisations and learn how IFB 2016 can assist in developing global networks.

Liverpool Gin will kindly be supporting the event by offering ‘gin cocktails’ to the guests and Shaw & Ryan will be serving their special brand of coffee.

The half day invitation-only event, which is being hosted in LJLA’s ‘air side’ Hangar 3, will include a number of guest speakers and exhibitors covering the entire spectrum of support and peer to peer advice a novice exporter requires to begin their own export journey.

Confirmed speakers so far on the day are:
• Leather Satchel Company
• 4040 Media
• Sigmatex

And the following panel members are also confirmed:
• Clarke Energy
• Charge Point
With more to be announced shortly.

Michael Gould, MD at Richardson’s Healthcare and Chairman of the Sefton Export Advisory Group, said:

“As we approach IFB 2016 this is one of the most important export events of the year for the city and something that started from the positive experience of Export Sefton. We have some key innovative speakers with us on the day who have great success stories to tell.

“It is so valuable to bring together those organisations already exporting with those who want to make the first step, allowing prospective exporters to look outside of their comfort zones to new, vibrant export markets.”

Mark Basnett, executive director of the Liverpool City Region LEP, said:

“Accelerating export growth is vital for the future of the City Region economy which is why we are supporting this event and the establishment of this network.

“We want all businesses in the City region involved or interested in exporting, from experienced exporters to first timers, to come together to learn from each other and take advantage of the wide range of expertise and support available to increase exporters.

“Liverpool was built on global trade and this is a great opportunity to further our global ambitions as a City Region.”
