Around 400 people work for MyCSP in Liverpool which helps administer pension schemes for public sector bodies and they have helped launched the MyCSP Community Fund. Tony McDonough reports.

More than 40 good causes including Bootle Scouts and The Royal Liverpool Hospital have benefited to the tune of £22,000 thanks to the efforts of the employees of one Merseyside firm.

Around 400 people work for MyCSP in Liverpool which helps administer pension schemes for public sector bodies.

A year ago it launched the MyCSP Community Fund with the backing of its employees who chose the good causes they wanted to support.

Since then, the fund has donated money to 43 different causes.

Recipients so far include the Royal Liverpool Hospital who received funds towards eye research, 19-year-old Neil Williams who received £2,500 towards a new wheelchair, Willaston Boxing Club  and Bootle Scouts.

The fund encourages Employee Partners to directly participate in where the money is distributed and can include direct funding to charities, support with their own charitable work, or to provide financial support for their own personal development. 

In addition, MyCSP employees have clambered through ice pools and barbed wire for Tough Mudder and braved the shave for Cancer Research.

David Boardman, communications director at MyCSP, said, “The Community Fund has not only been a great success, but has also shone a light on the extraordinary work our employees do to raise money for charity, and the help they provide to these great causes all across the North of England.

“We are very proud to support them all and look forward to seeing what the next 12 months will bring.”
