Husband-and-wife team Brian Noon and Lauren Cannon announce expansion of their Liverpool legal services business with the launch of an Asia-Pacific operation. Tony McDonough reports

Liverpool legal services firm In-House Legal Solutions (IHLS) is expanding overseas with a new operation in the Asia-Pacific region.

IHLS was founded in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Brian Noon and Lauren Cannon. Its first base was Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle and in October 2021 it moved to the city’s commercial district where it now runs a 19-strong team.

The business provides outsourced legal functions to medium to large companies that don’t have their own in-house legal teams.

Brian and Lauren had previously worked in London for international and ‘Magic Circle’ law firms respectively. The firm also provides fixed fee contract negotiation services with particular expertise in financial services.

Now they have put a team on the ground in Asia-Pacific to support its existing international clients who have offices in Australia and Singapore. Until now they have been supported from IHLS’s Liverpool base.

In addition to allowing IHLS to provide services during daylight hours to clients in those timezones, the launch will further enhance its offering for all clients by allowing it to provide a round-the-clock service.

Brian said: “Launching a presence on the ground in the Asia Pacific time zone is a fantastic next step for our business and is a real statement of intent around our commitment to our existing and future clients in those countries.

“We have many truly international clients and are considering other regions such as the US where our clients would benefit from having one of our team on hand to help them in their timezone.”
