Liverpool marketing and PR company boss Paul Corcoran has been named Creative Industries Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2017 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

Mr Corcoran, managing director of Agent Marketing, beat off strong competition to win the award with more than 1,300 entries from business people across the region.

The Huyton-born entrepreneur has previously been named Guardian Sustainable Business Leader of the Year and was also named in the 2017 BIMA top 100 most influential people in British digital and media industries.

He has been at the helm of Agent, a full-service marketing agency, since it was established in 2006. The company is based in the Baltic Triangle and was the first tenant of Baltic Creative.

The last 12 months has seen Agent secure its biggest contracts to date, expanding into new areas including transport and regeneration.

Agent has also increased its headcount to 17 with new roles across all four of its business departments; strategy, digital, communications and creative.

Mr Corcoran said: “The NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards celebrate the very best of British business and I am honoured just to have been nominated, let alone to have won.

“It was an incredibly special evening. I’m so happy and proud to be bringing this award home to Liverpool.
