Liverpool’s Five Guys record breaking first week

Five Guys at Queen Square is the second most successful opening worldwide in the company’s history.

Since opening its doors on Monday 7 December, thousands of burger lovers have visited the new city centre burger joint in Queen Square.

The group has more than 1,200 locations in the US and has rapidly grown in the UK, with a total of 31 restaurants opening since 2013.

The Liverpool branch has sold over 10,000 sandwiches, all in Five Guys’ classic American style which boasts over 250,000 topping combinations.

Other impressive stats reveal that the burger joint has sold 3,500 sodas, 3,700 fries and 1,800 shakes, and has gone through 300 cases of meat and 160 bags of potatoes (8.4 ton) since opening.
The new restaurant has also provided 70 new jobs to the local area.

Daniel Hynd, director of Promenade Estates which owns and operates Queen Square, says:

“Since Five Guys opened its doors on Monday, the reaction from the Liverpool public has been fantastic.

“The news that it is the second most successful opening worldwide is incredible and is testament to the quality of the Five Guys brand. This success reinforces the fact that quality operators will always be welcome in Liverpool, and will add further fuel to the growth in the city’s leisure industry.

“It’s particularly pleasing for Queen Square and the St Georges Quarter, which has seen a surge of investment in significant cultural and leisure developments in the past 18 months, such as the Shankly Hotel and the Royal Court refurbishment.”
