Marketing Liverpool appoints ambassadors manager

Marketing Liverpool has appointed a specialist to help bring even more conferences to the city.

Jane Fawley has been appointed Club Liverpool programme manager, leading the new enhanced ambassadors’ programme for the city launched by Marketing Liverpool and ACC Liverpool. The ambassadors consist of locally-based leaders and specialists in fields from medicine to manufacturing, politics to science. Jane will work with these experts to bring conferences from their industries to the city.

She will oversee the full cycle, from recruiting ambassadors to the programme to liaising with the Liverpool Convention Bureau and ACC Liverpool teams, ensuring members are fully supported to attract conferences and meetings to the city region.

Jane joins the 20-strong Marketing Liverpool team, bringing with her a wealth of experience from senior positions such as marketing director at Liverpool Daily Post and Echo, where she had responsibility for events and exhibitions, and head of market development for Trinity Mirror Regionals.

Chris Brown, director of Marketing Liverpool, said:

“While we have had an ambassadors’ programme for some years, it needs someone with the right experience and creativity to take it to the next level. In Jane, I’m confident we’ve found the ideal candidate. She knows the industry and, importantly, the city region very well and has already hit the ground running with the recent official launch of Club Liverpool.”

Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool, added:

“We have worked closely with our existing ambassadors, even prior to opening, to attract successful international conferences. Having a dedicated resource and opening our new exhibition centre in September – which will enable us to host more large scale international events – will boost our opportunities even further.”
