Liverpool health cash plan provider Medicash unveils new addition to its board

Medicash has appointed Charles Oddy to its board, subject to regulatory approval.

Charles has also been appointed non-executive director of Health@Work, a wholly owned subsidiary of Medicash. He is is an actuary, investment and risk management professional with more than 20 years’ experience.

In February LBN reported that the Liverpool-based national health cash plan provider had signed up 125,000 new policyholders in 2022 – a record increase that takes the total to 482,000.

In 2021, Medicash celebrated its 150th anniversary and these latest figures make 2022 the most successful year in its history. Sales and marketing director Paul Gambon described the figures as “truly exceptional”.

Also currently on the board of Liverpool John Moores University and recently Liverpool Chamber, Charles has worked within hedge funds, asset management, derivatives and early-stage investments. 

“I am immensely proud to be joining Medicash as non-executive director,” he said. “It is an exciting time to join the board and welcome the opportunity to contribute to such a historic and highly respected organisation.

“They have an excellent team and I look forward to using my experience and knowledge to support their strategic and operational ambitions.”
