Mersey Maritime is inviting entries for its 11th annual Mersey Maritime Industry Awards (MMIAs).

Now established as one of the biggest events in the Liverpool city region business calendar, the MMIAs look to celebrate Merseyside’s maritime, logistics, and energy industries which contribute more than £6bn a year to the local economy.

Mersey Maritime says it welcomes entries from businesses, organisations and individuals not just in the city region but from across the North West. Entry is free for Mersey Maritime members only.

Founded in 2002, Mersey Maritime was established to create a supportive ecosystem for one of the UK’s most dynamic maritime regions – and the awards continue to be a powerful showcase of that mission.

This year’s ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 6, once again in Liverpool Cathedral. Mersey Maritime promises “an unforgettable evening of celebration, collaboration and recognition” across the entire maritime supply chain.

Returning to host the ceremony for the second year is prominent broadcaster and journalist, Lucy Meacock.

Maersk is one of the Diamond Sponsors this year. Other supporters include Brookes Bell, Cammell Laird, Carmet Tug Company, Peel Ports Group, Royal HaskoningDHV, Royal Navy and SeaKing Group.

Ruth Wood, chief executive of Mersey Maritime, said: “We are thrilled to launch the eleventh Mersey Maritime Industry Awards and look forward to shining a spotlight on the incredible breadth of talent, innovation and impact across our industry.

“These awards reflect our commitment to showcasing maritime excellence on a regional and national stage.

“We continue to evolve our categories to reflect the sector’s changing priorities – from net zero to digital transformation – and we’re proud to once again combine expert judging with an industry-led vote to determine our winners.”

There are 12 award categories open for entry:
