A team of financial advisors who worked at national financial advisory firm Attivo have set up their own wealth management venture in Liverpool. Tony McDonough reports

A small team of financial advisors who previously worked at national firm Attivo have set up a new venture in Liverpool.

SME Wealth Management is a firm of chartered financial planners comprising four partners – principal shareholder Ian Paginton, director Daniel Colman, Aaron Lee and Jonathan Murphy.

All four all previously worked at Attivo, a national financial advisory firm which has an office in Liverpool. 

Now the quartet have opened their first office at Princes Dock in Liverpool Waters. Each holds Chartered Financial Planner status — the highest professional qualification awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute.

They offer decades of combined experience across independent financial advisory practices and discretionary investment managers. There are plans to expand the team in the coming months.

Their shared experience of working in environments where commercial pressures often outweighed client service and staff wellbeing was the catalyst for launching SME Wealth Management.

Ian Paginton said: “At SME Wealth Management, we’re building a firm that puts people before products. We set out to offer a trusted, personal service, grounded in long-term relationships and real lifestyle financial planning.

In the last few weeks Liverpool Waters has also welcomed another new tenant, Global Ports Holding, operator of Liverpool Cruise Terminal.
