Property services firm Momentum Group has secured a contract to refurbish 8,500 sq ft of office space in Birkenhead.

Momentum’s construction team will be responsible for the full strip out and fit-out of the 8,500sq ft offices at Unit 2 Valley Road. It secured the contract from Woodfellows, representing the owner Schroders Real Estate Investment Trust.

These offices are part of the 200,000 sq ft Valley Road Industrial Estate. The whole site was once occupied by the former Park Group as its headquarters and distribution hub for its Christmas hampers operation.

Park Group rebranded as Appreciate Group and, in 2019, relocated to Liverpool city centre. It closed its hampers operation and now focuses on gift cards, corporate rewards and Christmas savings.

In 2020 it sold the Valley Road estate to property group Glenbrook in a £3m deal. Glenbrook said it intended to create a multi-let industrial estate.

Based in Liverpool city centre, Momentum Group is a consultancy opening in four specialist areas – construction, advisory, building management and facilities management.

It was founded by directors Chris Bliss and Chris Renshaw. Chris Bliss was formerly the estate director at Liverpool ONE while Chris Renshaw has a track record as a project manager and has worked with multiple clients including Heathrow Airport.

On the latest deal Chris Renshaw said: “Winning a competitive tender is testament to our approach and commitment of our team.

“Our ability to bring together the very best solutions and work to strict project timelines to meet the demand for quality office space is what we do best. We are delighted to have been appointed to deliver this important project.”

Momentum Build will act as principal contractor for the design and build of the refurbishment works. Work on the project has already started.

Nick Willis of Woodfellows added: “We invited several businesses to submit their proposals for the design, build and refurbishment of the offices.

“We chose the Momentum Group because of their knowledge of the area, their experience and understanding of our desire for good quality fit out for our tenants. We were impressed with Momentum’s agile approach.”
