Momentum secures shopping centre contract
Property services firm Momentum Group wins new facilities management contract at a Liverpool city region shopping centre. Tony McDonough reports
Momentum Group has secured a contract to maintain and manage the facilities at Runcorn Shopping City.
Liverpool-based Momentum, a full-service property services group, has already been working with the retail centre for several years. Now its facilities management division has won a three-year mechanical and electrical maintenance contract.
Momentum FM will be responsible for many of the planned and reactive works that occur within the shopping centre. It will attend each week to carry out multiple activities across the centre.
Runcorn Shopping City, in the heart of the city region town, opened in 1972 and currently welcomes more than 70,000 visitors per week.
It is home to a number of well-known retail names and smaller independents while also offering various community services such as an NHS Outpatient Service.

Karl Clawley, associate director at Momentum FM, said: “Throughout Momentum’s team there is extensive experience of managing shopping centres to ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
“Our job is not only to maintain Runcorn Shopping City’s mechanical and electrical systems but also to ensure compliance and the building’s fabric is kept in good condition to keep the centre looking at its best.”
Centre manager Dave Pearman added: “We share the same values in keeping buildings well maintained, safe and compliant through proactive and reactive maintenance.
“With our combined experiences we look forward to continuing to welcome visitors to Runcorn Shopping City so they can work, shop and stay healthy.”
