The James Bulger Memorial Trust will be MSB Solicitors’ nominated charity for 2014 – 2015. The mother of James Bulger, Denise Fergus established the charity ‘For James’ in 2011 with the aim of supporting young people who are victims of crime, bereavement, bullying or hatred. The charity also seeks to reward those who care for the welfare of others through helping their schools or communities, or provides care for a sibling or relative during a difficult time. MSB will be working alongside Denise Fergus and other charity fundraisers and ambassadors in order to help the support their efforts over the next twelve months. Partner with the firm and long time friend and representative of the Denise and her family, Sean Sexton says the decision was particularly poignant for him.

“My firm have acted for Denise for the last twenty one years in all legal matters. I am delighted that we can support such a worthwhile charity and positively uphold the memory of James’ short life. “Denise, Stuart and other charity patrons are so passionate about the good work they do. We are very much looking forward to being more involved with the charity over the coming months.”

The ‘For James’ trust hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year and on October 12th, two MSB member of the MSB team are participating in a group sky dive. All monies raised go towards providing holidays and respite to families in need. There will also be a charity Spice Girls tribute act taking place on the 19th September, with the shared aim of raising awareness and providing support to families facing adversity.
