Liverpool loan and equity provider MSIF has backed the buyout of a North West chain of weight management clinics.

Sally Ann Turner, co-founder of the Bodyline Clinic, has bought out the other founder with a seven-figure combined equity and mezzanine loan facility and has revealed a plan to expand.

The business has been trading for more than 12 years, with a head office in Wilmslow and a number of other clinics in locations including Crosby, Birkenhead, Stockport and Warrington.

Each clinic is operated by a qualified medical team, overseen by the clinical director who is also an NHS consultant in public health.

The clinics offer advice and guidance on lifestyle, nutrition, diet and exercise, with each client receiving a tailored weight loss plan and weight loss aid medication if necessary.

Ms Turner said: “I have big plans for The Bodyline Clinic. We aim to roll our service out further – expanding our offering with new clinics across England.

“I have a great team of staff working with me, that I am so thankful for, and none of this would be possible without them.”

Brian McCann and James Curtis from MC Vanguard provided corporate finance advice to Ms Turner and the company, including working with management to develop an operating financial model to support MSIF’s investment.

Simon Thelwall-Jones, investment director at MSIF, said: “Sally clearly has a great deal of knowledge of The Bodyline Clinic due to her pre-existing involvement in the business.

“She has an excellent relationship with her staff and is heavily involved with the operational side of the business.

“She has great business acumen and a clear focus of where she will take The Bodyline Clinic now it is fully under her management.”
