Music event to remember Anthony Walker and to show we will ‘stand up against hate’

Anthony’s life was senselessly taken in a racially motivated murder in 2005 now an event will be held in Liverpool on the eve of what would have been his 32nd birthday

Anthony Walker was an exceptionally bright young man from Liverpool with ambitions to become a lawyer whose life was senselessly taken in a racially motivated murder in 2005.

Now, an event is to be held in the city’s Baltic Triangle on the eve of what would have been Anthony’s 32nd birthday. It will be a celebration of his life that will also demonstrate that we will not tolerate racism, hatred and discrimination.

Organised by the charity set up in his name, the Anthony Walker Foundation, Remembering Anthony: Standing Up against Hate will feature live music and dance performances by local talented people.

Its takes place on Wednesday, February 20, from 5.30pm to 10pm, at the Baltic Market in Stanhope Street on the Cains Brewery site.

Said the foundation: “All are welcome so come and join us as we remember Anthony and show our unity, determination and commitment to stand up and speak out against racism, discrimination and hate.”
