A new Sainsbury’s Local has opened at Princes Dock in Liverpool Waters as the number of people living and working in the development continues to rise.

Located on a ground floor unit in the 760-space multi storey car park, the new 5,748 sq. ft Sainsbury’s Local store on William Jessop Way, looks out onto Princes Dock.

As well as the usual food and drink offerings, the outlet will also feature other amenities including a cash machine, in-store bakery, and Argos collection point.

There are now more than 2,000 people living in Liverpool Waters, as well as hundreds of workers in offices at the scheme.

This new Sainsbury’s store secured planning permission from Liverpool City Council last year and was previously occupied by Bean Café and Holyrood Nursery.

Both businesses have remained open, with Bean Café recently completing a high-spec fit-out of their new coffee house and deli following their move into the adjacent unit.

Princes Dock is also set to become the home of the UK’s first Nordic style public floating sauna as well as being the location of the swim/run knockout event ‘The Eliminator’ which will take place on Saturday, May 18.

Liza Marco, senior asset manager at Liverpool Waters, added: “Following huge growth at Princes Dock in recent months, and an increasing number of visitors to the neighbourhood, it’s great to see Sainsbury’s joining the large number of businesses now based here.”
