A company that uses robots to automate manual packaging processes at pharmacies is the first tenant at the flagship Techspace One development at Sci-Tech Daresbury.

Established in 2012, Robotik Technology UK’s robots are used in pharmacies across the UK.

The Warrington-based firm’s staff will occupy 950 sq ft of laboratory space and 1,200 sq ft of office space in Techspace One at the Cheshire science campus.

Together with its sister building Techspace Two, Techspace One provides 43,000 sq ft of specialised grade A office and laboratory space within the Sci-Tech Daresbury Enterprise Zone.

Robotik’s goals for the next five years focus on growing its client base and making the most of the collaborative working opportunities available at Sci-Tech Daresbury.

UK director Andy Beesley said the combination of other technology companies and organisations, such as NHS Innovation, based at Sci-Tech Daresbury offers the perfect fit for the business.

He added: “We are dedicated to simplifying medication management. Our robots have the ability to organise drugs for patients on multiple medications, increasing accuracy and reducing the manual labour for pharmacy staff.

“The Techspace One site at Sci-Tech Daresbury is certainly a perfect match for Robotik Technology UK and the much bigger footprint that Techspace One offers will accommodate our business as we expand.

“The site is fantastic, it will allow us to mix and mingle with potential customers and suppliers and allow more people to see what we do.”

Sci-Tech Daresbury is a private-public joint-venture partnership between developer Langtree, the Science and Technology Facilities Council and Halton Council.

The Enterprise Zone status means that tenants will be eligible for a number of financial incentives including reduced business rates over a five-year period.
