Physical Fest back for 2017 along with weekend of free family events programme

This year, the festival will run from May 26 to June 3, with full programme of events being announced soon. Andrew Wright reports.

Tmesis Theatre is returning to the region this May to host Physical Fest, Liverpool’s international physical theatre festival.

One of the features of the week long event will be Young Fest – a weekend of free activities for young people and their families at Liverpool creative hub Bluecoat.

Taking place over the weekend of April 22, Young Fest offers interactive workshops and performances ranging from a superhero dance party to a monster disco, with activities suitable for three-to thirteen year-olds and families.

Also featured are the Acrobatics & Physical Comedy Workshop and The Rubbish Show, an outdoor theatre piece using everyday waste.

The Sunday of the event will see Play & Move with Tmesis Theatre and a puppet making workshop, followed by the ‘Monster Disco’.

Liverpool based Artemis Productions will be animating Bluecoat’s gardens with their nature inspired Bob and Gerry, an oversized flora and fauna duo and the huge Praying Mantas.

While Young Fest is free, booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment. Tickets are now on sale visitwww.thebluecoat.org.uk
