Scantec achieves maximum rating in railway industry audit

Scantec last week announced that the firm had achieved the maximum possible five-star rating from the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS).

The Birkenhead-based business offers specialist recruitment across the UK and internationally in a number of industrial and technical sectors, including rail, nuclear, oil and gas, civil engineering, food manufacturing, science and skilled trades. Across the country, the rail division is already serving Network Rail, providing highly skilled permanent and contract candidates.

The accreditation was awarded after the RISQS performed a comprehensive audit of the company’s practices and procedures as part of a rigorous audit regime that has raised health and safety standards for working on the rail network.

The achievement comes during a year in which the business has been celebrating 25 years in business and adds to a suite of accreditations that already includes ISO 9001:2008 and Investors in People (IIP). In 2013, the firm also became the first company in the UK to become an Institute of Recruiters (IoR) Centre of Excellence, delivering the certificate in professional agency recruitment.

Paul Gibbens, Client Relationship Director said:

“The RISQS audit shows the level of ability and specialist understanding in this area. It is the highest standard that can be awarded and reflects our unwavering focus on continuous improvement. The result is evidence of our continued commitment to providing the best value for clients and candidates through top performance, and we are delighted to be increasingly recognised as an industry leader in the rail recruitment sector.”
