Sedulo unveils another senior hire

Financial advisory firm Sedulo, which in 2021 invested £1.4m in a new Liverpool operation, has announced another senior appointment

Sedulo has made a fourth top-level appointment by signing Mark Strafford as its national head of civil forensic accounting.

Mark was previously a senior manager at investigations and expert services specialists Kroll. Prior to that he was a manager in the forensics and investigations team at Mazars.

In 2021, Sedulo invested £1.4m setting up an operation in Liverpool. It employs 75 staff and also has offices in Manchester, London and Leeds. In December it reported annual revenues of £13.2m – a rise of almost 30% on the previous year.

It offers services in audit, accountancy, taxation, business consultancy, forensic accounting, financial planning, IT consultancy plus mergers and acquisitions.

Forensics has been a part of the Sedulo offering, since it acquired Leeds firm Bartfields in 2019. The team has both a criminal and civil arm to its operations. Mark joins with an objective to significantly develop and grow the civil side.

Sedulo Group founder Paul Cheetham-Karcz said: “This is another major appointment for the group and for the forensics team in particular.

“We aim to increase our presence in the London market and this includes the forensics offering. Mark comes with his own ideas of how to take a foothold in the civil disputes and investigations market, and we will back him on his journey.

Mark added: “I am looking forward to getting started and delivering high quality services to a variety of high calibre clients, particularly in relation to commercial disputes and investigations. “
