September spike in auction sales for Sutton Kersh

Sutton Kersh has released the results of their September auction, one of the biggest of the year with £6.8m in property sales.

There were 126 lots at auction, with £4.5m in sales on the day and 25 lots sold prior to the auction, raising £2.4m.

The lots on offer included a number of instructions outside of Merseyside.

Cathy Holt, Associate Director at Sutton Kersh, said:

“The September auction was one of our biggest this year, with 126 lots on sale.  Lots included everything from land, vacant houses, churches, commercial premises and tenanted residential properties.  The auction also saw a big increase in properties on sale in areas outside of Merseyside, with a number of lots on sale from Greater Manchester and Wales.

“We sold more than 70% of all the lots available, but it’s not about percentages it’s about the amount of lots sold, that percentage equates to 91 lots in total sold this auction, which is a huge amount, many of which went well above the guide price.”

Cathy has highlighted some of the top performing properties on the day which included:

Lot 1, a two bed end terrace in Platt Bridge which sold for £14k above the £30k guide price.

Lot 10, a three bed terrace on Ridley Lane, Liverpool, with a guide price of £45k which sold for £57k.

Lot 30, a four bed semi-detached on Caldy lane in Liverpool with a guide price of £100k, which sold for £123k.

Lot 90, a three bed mid terrace with a potential rental income of £5,400 which sold for £62k and had a guide price of £45k.

Lot 101, a three storey end terrace in St Domingo Vale, Liverpool, which sold for £85k, more than double the guide price.

Cathy said:

“It’s been an incredible September auction and Brexit appears to be having no impact on the confidence in the market.  With such a high percentage of properties sold, some for more than double the guide price, we are seeing a property market in the North West which is performing extremely well, in fact the market appears to be flourishing in this region.”

Sutton Kersh is now inviting entries for the next auction which takes place on the 3rd November.  The closing date for entries is the 7th October and they recommend instructing early to take maximum advantage of the marketing campaign which runs before each auction.
