SKG Creations to show off designs at The Artisan Collective Handmade Arts & Crafts Market

After a very successful year, The Artisan Collective has moved its craft fair to a new venue for 2015 and on 28 March will present the best of the regions arts and crafts, including items from SKG Creations, from Liverpool’s magnificent Britannia Adelphi Hotel Liverpool.

The monthly Handmade Arts & Crafts Artisan Market takes place on the last Saturday of every month, with an eclectic mix of hand-picked, local stallholders.

The market is open to all local independent craftspeople and offers an opportunity to showcase their unique, homemade products. Some of the handmade arts and crafts on offer include:

  • Semi precious gemstone and freshwater pearl jewellery
  • Artwork and photographs
  • Sublime candles
  • Cards and gift bags
  • Soaps and washes
  • Crocheted and knitted fashions
  • Upcyled and recycled gifts
  • Wonderful bags and purses
  • Unique home furnishings

One of the stallholders, Shani Gabbidon, will be showcasing some of the products on offer from her bespoke design company, SKG Creations, including t-shirts, cushions, cards, and much more.

Shani has been living in Liverpool for the past two years, where she has focused on ideas for her creative design business. She believes The Artisan Collective Craft Fair is a vital part of the city’s resurging independent retail scene; and is an important platform for local creative’s, both in terms of showcasing and selling their products, but also to demonstrate the vibrancy and variation of the growing crafting community.

Shani said:

“I am excited to be amongst the pool of talented handmade designers helping to support our city and can only see a bright future for the craft fair.

“It’s so important to support local, handmade crafts in our city and celebrate what was once a dying traditional – and what better place to do that than in Liverpool, a city that so supports creative talent.”

The Artisan Collective are always on the look out for stall holders with exciting new products. It is their vision is to provide visitors with the opportunity to meet with local creative’s and encourage support for those small, local businesses.

Organisers of The Artisan Collective say:

“The marketplace presents an opportunity to purchase products that are created with love and care, by passionate craftsmen and women from the local community. The aim is to enable local people to be imaginative and experimental in both their crafting and their purchases, and we feel we have unearthed some of the best talent that Liverpool has to offer.

“Entry is free and with such a tempting selection of products on display, those planning to visit are bound to come away with a bargain.”
