It is now less than six weeks until Liverpool hosts the Eurovision song contest, an event that will once more put the city on the global stage.

And Bootle brand marketing specialist Wild Thang has welcomed the decision by event organisers to allow SMEs to use Eurovision branding for free for non-commercial and non-retail purposes.

Eurovision will take place at the M&S Bank Arena on Saturday, May 13. However, the city will be hosting multiple events in the run up to the big day.

From its headquarters and production facility close to the River Mersey, Wild Thang supplies a full range of branded marketing materials for clients across multiple business sectors. It will put a business logo on just about anything.

And founder and managing director Andrew Dwerryhouse says the decision to make the branding freely available will help local firms and organisations “feel involved and engaged in supporting this once-in-a-lifetime event”.

He added: “Eurovision is coming to Liverpool and the UK on behalf of Ukraine and we couldn’t be more excited. We are so proud to welcome what will be an incredible event to the city.

“And we think it’s fantastic that Eurovision, the BBC and Culture Liverpool have made this brand freely available to the public, SMEs and organisations across the UK.

“It’s Liverpool’s and the UK’s time to shine like a glitterball Eurovision-style on behalf of Ukraine. Celebrating Ukrainian culture and sovereignty will be at the heart of this occasion.

“There is a huge amount of cultural, educational and fun events planned over the coming weeks which were announced at a stakeholders event in March.

“So let Wild Thang help you get on brand and show you are proud to welcome people from across the globe but especially those from Ukraine.”

In January Andrew hailed Wild Thang’s “perfect start to 2023”. Despite the challenges of the pandemic the company invested £2m into creating a state-of-the art 20,000 sq ft facility. Headcount has grown by 25% over the past year with more jobs on the way.

“At Wild Thang, we understand the importance of getting fully behind large-scale events like Eurovision,” said Andrew.

“That’s why we’ll be offering to help small businesses and organisations get on brand and show their support for the big event.

“We have all your promotional Eurovision branding needs covered, from clothing and promotional merchandise to print materials so you can show you are ‘Proud to Welcome Eurovision’.

“We are passionate about helping businesses and organisations achieve their marketing goals. Aligning with an event of this significance is an opportunity not to be missed and we believe that branded clothing and merchandise are a great way to do just that.”
