Sponsorship Investment Management Services in new partnership
The Merseyside Sponsorship Investment Management Services (SiMS) group raises cash for disabled sport. Now the Whiston-based team is expanding.
SiMS offers team building days for companies that also include an inspirational address by a British Paralympian athlete, followed by a game of wheelchair basketball.
The aim is to raise the profile fo disabled and minority sports, with all funds raised by tge corporate team building events going to help fund the movement.
Norman Lay, SiMS’ managing director, said:
“We’ve put a really positive corporate social responsibility spin on to teambuilding activities.
“This is much more than just a great day out. Money that is raised from these days goes right back into disabled and minority sports, funding essential equipment and helping the sports go from strength to strength across the country.”
SiMS has expanded activities by partnering with the Cheshire Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball Club in Chester, with both parties enthusiastic to benefit from growing awareness of the sport and related activities across Cheshire and the North West.
Normal Lay continued:
“It’s great to be working with Cheshire Phoenix wheelchair basketball team, and we hope that Cheshire businesses will support them via our teambuilding events.”
SiMS saw recent success at an awards ceremony, where is was recognised as part of the EVCOM Clarion awards which focus on companies that promote social inclusion, corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, and ethical debate.
Previous winners have included Barclays Bank, Honda, and the BBC 2 series “It’s Not Easy Being Green”.
SiMS was given a gold award in the Sustainable Event Service Provider category.
The award was handed to SiMS’ new projects director, Nicola Gleave, whose previous experience includes work with Liverpool Council and regeneration agency Liverpool Vision.
Nicola manages SiMS’ growing portfolio of clients, liaising between businesses and athletes to ensure that their planned days always go swimmingly.
Nicola Gleave said:
“It’s brilliant to start my role at SiMS picking up an award.
“I’m hoping that the future will hold just as much success and recognition for SiMS. It’s a great service that is truly unlike any other run of the mill corporate teambuilding day, and I’m looking forward to introducing lots of businesses to the fun of a SiMS day.”
