Steinberg encourages independent businesses to fly the flag for Merseyside
As the deadline for the Merseyside Independent Business (MIB) Awards nears, Max Steinberg, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, has spoken of the invaluable contribution Independent Businesses make to the region.
He said:
“Liverpool City Region is one of the England’s fastest growing regional economies and independent businesses are at the very heart of that.
“Merseyside is well known for manufacturing, tourism, media, retail and professional services and there’s some shining talent and businesses operating in these sectors. The Merseyside Independent Business Awards provide chance for innovation, creativity and growth to be recognised and importantly, to fly the flag for Merseyside as a place to do business too.”
Independent businesses across Merseyside are eligible to enter and have until 14th August to submit their entries via: www.mibawards.co.uk
Family-run Matta’s Foods on Bold Street won the grand title ‘Business of the Year’ at the Merseyside Independent Business awards 2014 and received a coveted package of business support and mentoring as the prize.
Dalip Matta from Matta’s Foods said:
“The win made a huge difference to the business – people were talking about us, it brought more customers through the door and the business support and guidance we received as part of our prize has really helped to keep pushing the business forward. It was also very special for my parents as they were about to retire after more than 50 years building the business. I’d urge any Merseyside business that wants to grow their business to enter the MIB awards.”
Alison Lobb, the managing partner of Morecrofts, which created the MIB awards, said:
“There’s still time to enter – we want to celebrate all that is great about independent business here in Merseyside and want to see as many entries as possible.”
The awards will culminate with a glittering dinner at The Rum Warehouse on October 1st 2015.
