A trio of team members from Knowsley-based Suites Hotel & Spa this month embarked on the Race for Life in Sefton Park to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Sales and marketing director Lyndsay Stanistreet-Tyer, Alex Moran (marketing assistant) and Becky Schofield (conference & events co-ordinator) joined Amanda Worthington (travel manager at Matalan Group) in donning their trainers for the 5k race.

Lyndsay said: “Myself and two other members of the team from Suites Hotel & Spa along with our good friend Amanda took part in last weekend’s Race for Life to raise vital funds for a charity that is very close to my heart and the hearts of many others.

“With one in two people being diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, it’s so important to do all that we can to contribute to the fundraising efforts. So far, we have raised £900 for the cause both online and through sponsorship forms. Our target of raising £200 has been achieved four times over and we’d like to thank everybody who’s helped us to reach our goal.”

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life raises money for research into all types of cancer and has raised more than £547 million to fund the charity’s life-saving work over the last 20 years.
