Three students at Rare School of Fashion in Liverpool city centre have been offered the opportunity to work as interns in the world famous Fabletics design studio in Los Angeles. Fully funded by Kate Hudson’s brand, the students will be going to LA for 6 weeks to learn about all aspects of the fashion industry.
This July, Emily Hughes, Sean Wainwright and Jessica Sutton will be jetting off across the Atlantic to seize the once in a lifetime opportunity.
Sean Wainwright, student at Rare School of Fashion, said:
“I want to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the Rare School of Fashion, not just for setting me on track for a big career with this phenomenal opportunity in L.A., but also for all the experience and insight they’ve given me. I am completely over the moon – I haven’t stopped smiling all day!”
Emily Hughes, another student, said:
“Studying at the Rare School of Fashion over the past year has been a tremendously inspiring experience. When I arrived on my first day, I never imagined that I’d leave as a fully-fledged fashion designer on my way to L.A. to work and learn alongside some of the best in the industry. Los Angeles: Here I come!”
As a registered charity, Rare School of Fashion helps students to study at the highest level regardless of their personal circumstances or financial background, evenly giving opportunities to many of Liverpool’s brightest young designers.
Rare School of Fashion works in partnership with Broadgreen International School. The course is delivered by a range of fashion experts and the curriculum is designed by the Director of the college and Vice President of design at Fabletics and Just Fab Liverpool-born Shaun Kearney. Shaun is delighted to be welcoming three of his students from his hometown to L.A.

They are three very talented and extremely committed students who thoroughly deserve the opportunity to show us all they’ve learned”
The scholarships were presented to the students by fashion designer Phillip Armstrong at the end of term fashion show, where the students presented a range of work they had created over the past year.
Rare School of Fashion offers 2-year fully funded BTEC courses for young people aged 16-18 and post-18 intensive training. There is still the chance to join the course in September. On Monday 25th July they will be holding a competition for young people who want to apply for the course from 1-4pm. Interested applicants will take part in a range of challenges that will result in one lucky individual winning a full scholarship place at the school and BTEC students to win an equipment prize!
