Take a look at new apartments at the former Tyrers department store in St Helens

Merseyside developer Luxor Group took over the 128-year-old department store in the town centre last year and unveiled plans for 15 apartments along with commercial units. Tony McDonough reports

 

Developer Luxor Group will offer the public a first glimpse of a show apartment at its conversion of the former St Helens department story Tyrers.

The family-owned story served the people of the town for 128 years before it closed its doors for the final time last year.

Merseyside-based Luxor, whose boss Paul Nicholson was named Property Investor of the Year at the Property Investor Awards 2017, took over the 15,000 sq ft building and unveiled plans for 15 apartments along with commercial units.

The development will be know as Nicholson Lofts and Luxor will open up the show apartment to prospective tenants on Friday, January 12, from 6pm, with complimentary food and drink.

Work on the project is expected to be completed early in the New Year. The units are available to rent for £550 pcm for a one-bed apartment and £650 pcm for a two-bed apartment.

Luxor tenants will receive discounted membership at Xercise4less St Helens Gym and exclusive discount vouchers for a number of St Helens restaurants with a a luxury concierge service also on offer at for a small additional fee.
