Tecmark Limited secures six figure equity funding from The North West Fund for Digital & Creative

Tecmark has secured a several hundred thousand pound venture capital investment from The North West Fund for Digital & Creative. The injection of cash will allow the founders to develop the agency’s current offering in Manchester and to fuel the growth of their recently opened Liverpool office.

The agency specialises in designing and implementing content led digital marketing campaigns and SEO, with a client portfolio across these services that includes Saga and Travelbag.co.uk.

Tecmark was founded in 2008 by Richard Heyes and Kevin Jones, and is based in Piccadilly, Manchester. The management team has been supplemented by Rob Weatherhead who joined from MediaCom as Operations Director and the promotion of Stacey MacNaught to Search Director.

In addition to its content offering, Tecmark has also developed a multi-screen optimised e-commerce platform, which enables retailers to ensure their websites are accessible and user friendly for all device users in today’s mobile centric online shopping landscape. Miribase is already powering a number of Tecmark client websites. The agency has also launched a specialist portfolio of tools designed to assist content and digital marketing teams. These include Tecmark 20/20, an end to end web Analytics offering enabling businesses to get offline sales data back into Analytics and tracked back to an online marketing channel. The toolset also includes Tecmark 635, a platform that enables content teams to generate ideas quickly and effectively using the traditional 635 brainwriting method online.

Richard Heyes, co-founder of Tecmark, said:

“The additional funding will facilitate our ambitious growth plans both in Manchester and Liverpool. We’ll be continuing to invest in technology and tools for marketing teams, we have recently launched our Content Marketing Training Academy and we will continue to bolster our service delivery teams and offerings. It’s an incredibly exciting time for us.”

Rupert Wingate-Saul, Investment Manager, AXM Venture Capital, which manages The North West Fund for Digital & Creative, said:

“Our funding will support Tecmark’s growth in terms of geographical expansion, reinforcing its Liverpool presence, and in developing its own unique technology platform. We have great confidence in this management team based on their success to date in building a seven figure revenue business with a market-leading expertise in digital marketing.”

The North West Fund for Digital & Creative is part of The North West Fund and is financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank.
