Ten years at the top for Sutton Kersh
Sutton Kersh has sold close to £40 million in property during 2015, placing them firmly as the top performing auction house in the city region, for the tenth consecutive year.
The final auction of 2015, on the 10th December, saw Sutton Kersh hit almost £5m in property sales.
Cathy Holt at Sutton Kersh said:
“Our total property sales for 2015 has hit close to £40m and this still looks set to rise further before the end of the year. The December auction has been another great result for Sutton Kersh, keeping us firmly in place as the top performing auction house in the City Region.
“Sales for 2015 have been really strong and this is a good indicator of how the city region property market and property values are performing.”
There were 88 lots for sale in the December auction, held at the Marriot Hotel, with a mix of commercial and residential properties.
Bidding was particularly fierce on a number of residential properties in the Georgian Quarter and Edge Lane, with some selling for almost double the guide price.
Stand out properties included 43 Knight Street, a period property in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter which sold for almost £100,000 over the guide of price. The three storey, plus basement, Georgian end town house was previously used as an office but is suitable for residential conversion to provide self-contained flats. With a guide price of £175,000 bidding was competitive with the property selling for £270,000.
Other strong performers included Lot 71, a three storey end terrace on Edge Lane with planning permission to be converted into three, two bedroom flats. The property had a guide price of £75k but sold for almost double that, with the winning bid at £142,500.
The next auction takes places on the 11th February 2016 at the Crowne Plaza. For more information, visit www.suttonkersh.co.uk/auctions or call 0151 207 6315.
