The Interesting Eating Company set to sweeten things up during Coeliac Awareness week

The Interesting Eating Company is marking Coeliac Awareness Week (9-15 May) with its ever-growing selection of gluten-free products.

Located on Allerton Road and the entrance to Peter’s Lane in Liverpool ONE, the unique eatery has become renowned across the North West for its gluten-free sweet and savoury speciality pancakes.

Having struck up an affiliation with Coeliac UK during the brand’s establishment in 2012, the original South Liverpool venue also hosts monthly support groups in partnership with the local voluntary network.

Director of The Interesting Eating Company Nichola Lee said:

“As we like to ensure that all of our guests are treated the same, we have adapted a gluten-free menu to allow coeliac customers to eat out in confidence and not feel alienated. Many of our coeliac customers have commented on how it is often difficult to enjoy sweet treats such as cakes, cookies and pancakes, which is why we wanted to create an offering that was suitable for everyone. As our menu choice is ever-expanding, we are always welcoming suggestions from our guests on what they’d like to see added to our gluten-free choices.”

In addition to gluten-free pancakes, which are freshly made to order, coeliac menu options include bread, cakes, scones, cookies and sausages. As part of the eatery’s outside catering arm to the business, gluten-free sandwich platters are also available for private functions such as birthdays and corporate events.

Director of The Interesting Eating Company Andrea Edwards added:

“Aside from our culinary gluten-free offering, we also work in partnership with Coeliac UK’s Liverpool voluntary support group, whereby we hold monthly meetings at our Allerton Road venue. The support group is helpful for those who have been recently diagnosed with the food intolerance and those who have already adapted to the lifestyle, allowing them to exchange tips and ideas.”
