One of Southport’s most loved Italian restaurants has been named as the official food and drink sponsor for this year’s Miss England Grand Final.
Trattoria 51, located on the seaside resort’s famous promenade, will see the arrival of 50 regional finalists scouted from across the nation, to mark the start of the two-day event taking place across July 20-21.
An exclusive lunch, which has been aptly devised for the notable occasion, will follow on from the Miss England Eco & Talent show held in the Southport Theatre & Convention Centre during the inaugural day.
Restaurateur Attilio Sergi said:
“This is the first time in 11 years that the Miss England Grand Final will be returning to the North West, so it fills us with great honour to have been approached and appointed as the official lunch providers.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming the Miss England finalists on July 20 and also provide an intimate lunch on the following day to mark the efforts of the fantastic team behind the world acclaimed contest. As sponsors of the event, we are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to represent Southport and put our fantastic town in the limelight.”
In a bid to go above and beyond that of a traditional beauty contest, the Miss England Grand Final will consist of a series of qualifying rounds that include sports/fitness, fundraising, talent and an Eco-fashion show, whereby contestants will showcase their custom outfits made from recycled materials.
Over the past five years Miss England has raised in excess of £1m for the charity www.beautywithapurpose.com, which helps different causes around the country. This year the competition will be raising funds for the Community Link Foundation, a charity that seeks to strengthen the community by offering support and enhancing the lives of local people. In addition to Trattoria 51, local sponsors also include Ramada Plaza, Genting Club and Billion Dollar Smile.
Attilio added:
“Our seaside town has such a charm and has always excelled in hosting big hitting events such as the Southport Flower Show and Southport Air Show to name just two. We hope that the arrival of the Miss England Grand Final will further Southport’s geographical recognition and create a real buzz amongst local residents.
“The team and I at Trattoria 51 would like to wish all of the young ladies a sincere congratulations for making it through to the final stage.”
Director of Miss England Angie Beasley said:
“Contrary to belief, the Miss England finalists LOVE food and are very much looking forward to visiting Trattoria 51 during their time in Southport.”
