Treatwell sets its sights on Liverpool as it seeks to double salon and spa partners

Europe’s largest beauty booking platform, Treatwell, has announced ambitious growth plans to further expand into Liverpool in 2016

Established in 2008, the website and app connects local salons and spas with customers online, allowing users to find the best venues, compare prices and book appointments online anytime, anywhere.

Treatwell currently works with nearly 250 local salons and spas in the city, including established names like White Haus Hair and Beauty, Zerofour Salon Liverpool, Herbert of Liverpool and Voodou (winners of “Best Hair Salon” at the English Hair and Beauty Awards 2016).

Now after the formation of a dedicated Liverpool sales and salon liaison team, the platform aims to boost its operations in the city by doubling the number of salons and spas on its Liverpool roster.

Treatwell’s announcement follows the completion of a seven figure rebranding effort by the London-based firm, previously known as Wahanda.

CEO and founder Lopo Champalimaud said:

“We work with 15,000 salons and spas across the UK and Liverpool is our sixth largest marketplace across the entire country. Hair and beauty appointment bookings through Treatwell have grown 250% year on year in Liverpool, and combining that with the variety of investment being poured into the region, it’s an extremely exciting time to do business here. This city is one of the North’s leading beauty hubs and Liverpudlians are embracing the online beauty booking revolution with open arms. Our website and app allows customers to easily book their favourite treatments at a time and price that suits them, while becoming a Treatwell partner helps position you where your customers are – online.”

Businesses signed up to the service receive access to Treatwell Connect, the bespoke salon management software which allows owners to easily take bookings online, manage their calendar remotely and apply smart discounting to maximise revenue for off-peak slots.

Rob Webb, owner of Voodou, said:

“Treatwell makes it really easy for new and existing customers to discover us online and find their perfect treatment. Since becoming a Treatwell partner we’ve seen a big increase in clients booking with us through the website and app – very often booking just a few hours before the appointment time.”

The hair and beauty booking platform has also released data showing the city’s most in-demand appointments of the last 12 months.

Body and Hollywood waxing ranked among the most popular treatments, while HD Brows, eyelash extensions and blow dries also appeared in the list.

However, while beauty and grooming treatments dominated the list, local Liverpool women took much less time out for rest and relaxation compared to the rest of the country, as the only UK city where massage and spa days appeared outside of the top 10.
