South Liverpool’s Allerton Manor Golf Club has recently launched ‘FootGolf’, a fast-growing activity that combines the best of football and golf in a fun format.

Available at the club’s nine-hole academy course, in a session of FootGolf you kick a football down the fairways, over the trees and onto the greens into the extra-large holes to shoot the lowest score you can.

There’s no dress code to enjoy FootGolf, players simply require a standard size football (which can be hired for a small charge if needed). Studded football boots are a no-no as they damage the playing surface.

“We’ve already received some amazing feedback from those that have played FootGolf here at Allerton Manor, several local football teams played in the first few days and loved it,” said director of golf Bryan Joelson-Mulhall.

“We expect to see a strong uptake from families during the school summer holidays as it’s the perfect family activity to keep the children entertained and away from their games consoles.”

In addition to the launch of FootGolf, Allerton Manor Golf Club is launching a range of new group based on-course golf lessons with specific sessions for children, families, ladies and beginners.
