Voting opens for Liverpool Food and Drink Festival awards

People across Merseyside are being encouraged to vote for their favourite local restaurants, bars and producers as the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival awards return for the 10th consecutive year.

Graffiti Spirits Group won the Outstanding Achievement Award at last Year’s Liverpool Food and Drink Festival Awards

The awards, which form part of Liverpool Food and Drink Festival, were created to ‘recognise talent and flair in the city’s food and drink scene’.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Alma de Cuba on September 26

There are 11 categories at this year’s Food and Drink Festival Awards including favourite place to eat out, most popular signature cocktail, best interior styling, street food king or queen and best hangout for families.

Dominic Levi (owner of Neon Jamon, Tribeca and Three Piggies), Danny Murphy (owner of Berry and Rye and Jenny’s Bar), Oliver Press and David Williams (the team behind Independent Liverpool and the Baltic Market) have been shortlisted for the outstanding contribution to Liverpool’s Food and Drink Scene award.

The public have until September 21 to cast their votes online.

Isabella Kantor, Festival Manager at Liverpool Food and Drink Festival, said: “The city’s food and drink scene is booming and these awards are designed to highlight the talent and dedication of the people who are leading the way.

“When it comes to the best local bars and restaurants, most of us like to have our say and these awards give people a chance to make sure their favourites are recognised. I would encourage anyone who enjoys eating out in our fabulous city to get voting.”

The awards follow on from Liverpool Food and Drink Festival, which returns to Sefton Park on September 16 and 17.
