One of Liverpool city region’s best known SMEs, brand marketing specialist Wild Thang, has announced it is backing the North West LGBTQ+ Business Awards.

Being held at the Rum Warehouse, Titanic Hotel, Liverpool on October 21, the awards were founded by Wirral entrepreneur Drew Cockton. His aim is to celebrate the accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community in business. In June LBN revealed the shortlist for this year’s awards.

Based in Bootle, Wild Thang manufactures and supplies a full range of branded marketing materials. It has recently completed a £2m upgrade of its headquarters and is currently seeking more warehouse space to expand its business.

Its blue-chip clients include Vimto, SkyBet, McDonald’s, Princes Foods, LJMU and Paddy Power. It also does work for a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Everton.

Led by founder Andrew Dwerryhouse, Wild Thang has been marking Pride month during June in a number of different ways. This included a temporary change to its logo to incorporate the Pride colours and offering its clients a wide range of Pride-themed merchandise.

Staff also produced their first-ever Tik Tok video to promote the merchandise. And it also supported NYCHYL by producing a new limited edition ‘Rainbow Toffees’ t-shirt. Each one comes with a signed post card from former Everton keeper Neville Southall.

Andrew told LBN: “As Pride Month ends, we are changing our logo from rainbow back to our original Wild Thang colours. We thought it was incredibly important to reflect on some of the fantastic campaigns, support we have offered and engagement we have been involved in over the entire Pride month.

“And to show our true commitment to the LBGTQ+ community, we are announcing that we will be a category award sponsors at the North West LBGTQ+ Business Awards. This is an event we are immensely proud to be involved with.

“We have clear internal policies and as part of our Wild Thang Way company mission that promotes and celebrates every area of society, placing equality central to everything we do as a company and as a team.”
