Brand marketing specialist Wild Thang is stepping up its staff development efforts by putting together an in-house training programme.

Based not far outside the city centre, Wild Thang manufactures and supplies a full range of branded marketing materials to major clients including Sky Bet, Paddy Power, Wembley Stadium, Liverpool and Everton football clubs.

The £2m-turnover business was founded 20 years ago by Andrew Dwerryhouse with a £1,500 grant from the Princes Trust and it now employs more than 30 people.

We reported last year on the firm’s track record in developing staff using apprenticeships.

Now Wild Thang is taking its commitment to people development a stage further by putting together its own in-house training programme.

It is partnering up with John Haynes’ Liverpool-based International Coaching Academy to deliver the programme.

John is one of the best-known faces and names in Liverpool city region’s business community.

Andrew explained: “We have big growth plans for the years ahead and know that training will be an essential part of creating that growth mindset.

“As a company we know that ultimately Wild Thang is only as good its own employees which is why we are investing substantially in the personal and professional development of every member of staff.

“The senior management team have already had some training with John Haynes and know the positive impact it has had on us all both professionally and personally.

“We want this training to have the same effect on all our colleagues because it’s a fact that we simply never stop learning to be the best we can possibly be and we want every member of staff to have the opportunity to gain knowledge and inspiration.”

John Haynes added: “I am excited and positive about helping Wild Thang grow in to a global and unique brand.

“From the managers, staff and of course the directors there is a sense of, ‘we can achieve this as a united winning team’.”
