100 new jobs at second Gino D’Acampo Liverpool restaurant

Restaurateur Gino D’Acampo is to open a new restaurant and ‘Sky Bar’ in Liverpool city centre, creating 100 new jobs. Tony McDonough reports

Restaurateur Gino D’Acampo will have two Liverpool restaurants

 

Restaurateur Gino D’Acampo is to create 100 new jobs in a second restaurant in one of Liverpool’s new hotels as well as a ‘Sky Bar’ 18 storeys above the city centre.

He opened his first restaurant in Liverpool, on the corner of Dale Street and Castle Street, in July 2017 and that has proved a hit with diners. Now he plans to open a 200-cover restaurant at the new INNSiDE Liverpool hotel in Old Hall Street in August.

INNSiDE Liverpool will be a 207-bed facility located in what was known as City Tower above the former Liverpool Post & Echo headquarters in Old Hall Street. It is scheduled to open on August 16.

Echo publisher Reach sold a portion of the freehold interest in the building, which had previously housed the paper’s printing presses, for £6.6m in 2018. It entered into a joint venture with Dubai-based Select Group to redevelop the site, which the former a 15-storey office block.

Gino D’Acampo Quayside opened at INNSiDE Newcastle last month, with his team having also taken over the food and beverage operations at INNSiDE Manchester. Gino D’Acampo Old Hall Street will open in Liverpool on August 16.

Key features will include an open-plan 200-cover restaurant, an open theatre style kitchen, two private dining rooms, and a 60-cover long bar within the hotel’s open bar and lounge. Local resident DJ’s will see in guests’ mornings and weekends.

Gino will also open a new 360-degree Sky Bar on the 17th floor of the hotel. Providing seating for 100 guests it will offer an extensive selection of international wines and cocktails from Gino’s team of mixologists.

Those attending the hotel for a celebratory or business function will also have the opportunity to enjoy a taste of the chef’s culinary expertise with a number of banquet and delegate menus created by Gino’s team of executive development chefs available to experience in all seven of INNSiDE Liverpool’s adaptable meeting rooms.

A dedicated events floor with capacity for over 340 guests and providing a separate dining breakout space is ideal for businesses looking to host large scale gatherings. Gino D’Acampo said: “I’m super excited to confirm I’m to open my second restaurant in Liverpool, at the beautiful INNSiDE Liverpool.

“It’s an incredible place with an amazing open plan restaurant and unbelievable panoramic Sky Bar with cool DJs.  I cannot wait to open the doors and invite everyone to experience it.”
