3,600 sq ft Swiss watch outlet to open in Liverpool

Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer is partnering with Liverpool jeweller David M Robinson to open a 3,600 sq ft store in Liverpool city centre that will include a lounge and bar. Tony McDonough reports

Liverpool jewellery retailer David M Robinson (DMR) is to open a third outlet in the city centre in a partnership with Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer.

DMR, which was founded in a shop in Liverpool more than 50 years ago, will open the new 3,600 sq ft outlet in South John Street in Liverpool ONE in October. It will join Its Rolex flagship store and OMEGA boutique, also in South John Street.

Set to be the largest of its kind in the country, it will feature a private luxury lounge and bar, as well as a traditional boutique space.

David Robinson trained as an apprentice goldsmith for a jewellery repair business on Liverpool’s Hanover Street in 1962. He gained his qualifications at night school and opened his first jewellery store in South John Street in 1969.

Today, as well as its stores in Liverpool, DMR also operates two outlets in Manchester, one in Altrincham and another at Canary Wharf in London. It first opened in Liverpool ONE in 2008.
