ZipCall is the latest offering from established international telecoms company 2Abroad Ltd.

Initially offering free calls to the USA and Canada, ZipCall has now added China to its list of destinations – the only requirement to use the service is that the customer has free calls to UK landlines included in his or her landline or mobile package.

Managing Director of 2Abroad, Alistair Gates said:

1. Call 0333 232 3232
2. Enter the international number (00 + Country Code + Area Code + Local number) (do not press the call key again)
3. That’s it – you will be connected

The only situation in which a call made via ZipCall will not be free is if the customer does not have free minutes. In this case, the call will be charged as a standard rate landline call. OFCOM mandates that all landline and mobile providers are required to include calls to 03 numbers in free minutes:

“Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.”
