20-strong delegation from Property Agents Independent attended launch of 70,000 sq ft office scheme at Edward Pavilion in Liverpool’s historic Royal Albert Dock. Tony McDonough reports

A party of leading commercial property agents have come to Liverpool to see what the city offers to potential occupiers.

Property Agents Independent (PAI) is the UK’s largest connected network of commercial agents which each year embarks on a “technical tour” of one of its member cities.

One of Liverpool’s most experienced commercial agents, Chris Hennessy of Matthews & Goodman, showed the delegate around and said the city was chosen for this year’s tour by “popular request”.

He added: “Around  20 commercial agents from all parts of the UK attended and, as part of the visit, were invited by developer Castleforge Partners to the opening of a new 70,000 sq ft office scheme at Edward Pavilion in Liverpool’s historic Royal Albert Dock.

The Grade I-listed building has undergone a multi-million pound transformation and the launch event welcomed more than 280 of the region’s key businesses and individuals and members of the national delegation were visibly impressed by what they saw.

“Our members were most impressed by what they saw at Edward Pavilion, a high quality refurbished landmark building in a world class location,” said Chris.

Serviced office provider Clockwise will operate on two floors, offering contemporary private offices and shared workspace with flexible membership plans. 

Rachael Pittaway, from Castleforge, said: “Since acquiring Edward Pavilion in December 2017, we have stopped at nothing to ensure the building becomes the latest destination in Liverpool for businesses to operate from.

“There is a real demand in Liverpool at the moment for grade A office space and so we’re delighted to be able to meet this need and offer a unique work place in the city.

“We are overwhelmed with the interest we have received so far and with 25,000 sq ft currently under offer at the site, only 8,000 sq ft of traditional office space remains available at this landmark location.”

Edward Pavilion has been sympathetically restored to make the most of its original features. The 19th century warehouse has impressive barrel-vaulted ceilings, exposed brickwork, raised floors and cast iron columns.
