Liverpool’s Carpathia restaurant, situated on the seventh floor of the 30 James Street hotel, is set to unveil its brand-new winter menu this week.
The menu, which features classic British cuisine, boasts an array of winter specials including the braised shank of bowland lamb served with garlic mashed potato, creamed carrot and swede and veal glace; handmade 8oz steak burger, which comes with streaky bacon, onion rings, Monterrey Jack cheese and tomato salsa as well as the pan-fried fillets of sea bass, served on a samphire and parsley risotto, with a lemon and dill butter sauce.
Guests can also tuck into a selection of new desserts such as rhubarb and ginger crumble with warm vanilla crème anglaise and coffee and walnut cheesecake which is served with coffee syrup and fresh whipped cream.
The restaurant takes its name from RMS Carpathia, the ship that rescued the 705 RMS Titanic survivors.
Carpathia has been hugely popular since it opened its doors last summer. The upmarket diner, which features a champagne bar for pre or post-dinner drinks, has also been a hit with celebrity visitors to the city with former Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle enjoying a meal last weekend.
The seventh floor eatery, which has two 10ft balconies, boasts stunning panoramic views that overlook the Albert Dock, Canning Dock and Liverpool’s Three Graces.
The menu has been devised by new head chef Matt Cox, who thinks it will be a huge success with visitors.
He said:
“I expect our new menu will be popular with returning visitors as well those coming to the restaurant for the first time. We have spent time getting this menu just right for the winter season. The featured dishes cater for a wide-range of guests who are looking to dine in unique and luxurious surroundings.”
Carpathia is located at 30 James Street, Liverpool, L2 0NJ.
