The countdown to Christmas is on at Delifonseca

With only 14 Fridays to go until Christmas, Delifonseca is helping its customers to get into the festive spirit by launching its seasonal offerings.

For unique Christmas cuisine, Fonseca’s located on Stanley Street will offer a range of yuletide merriments ideal for celebrations amongst friends and work colleagues – while the Dockside eatery will create a cosy hub outside away from the hustle and bustle, perfect for intimate family celebrations.

Proprietor of Delifonseca Candice Fonseca said:

“Year on year, we welcome so many new and familiar faces through our doors at Christmastime and with this in mind we take it as an opportunity to devise a menu and offering that provides something a little different.

“Created with social sharing in mind, both sites have crammed our signature sharing starter platters full of interesting festive offerings from Liverpool Gin Cured Salmon, Colston Basset Stilton and Cider Rarebit to our quirky savoury Christmas Puddings – there’s even a Mini Fondue with Maple Pecans and Brussels Sprouts!

“The idea is that guests can enjoy multiple flavours which is not just enjoyable but we find a real talking point. With our main courses we’ve tried to ensure there are options for all tastes. Great vegetarian and fish dishes such as Mushroom Duxelle Mille Feuille or Luxury Fish Pie with Smoked Haddock, Salmon and Langoustine topped with Mrs Kirkham’s Tasty Lancashire Crumble plus unctuous winter Slow Braised Beef and Pork dishes for those who prefer the more traditional winder dishes.”

Last year Fonseca’s was such a popular Christmas venue that they are for the first time working on a Christmas Day menu. Danielle Youds the General Manager says:

“We had so many enquiries last year about Christmas Day that we couldn’t ignore it.”

At Christmas the award-winning Dockside food hall’s speciality food ranges come into their own. In addition to diversity of culinary delights, customers hosting Christmas at home are able to make use of the pre-order service – whereby they are able discuss and order their entire food shooting list in advance, and book a collection time that suits them.

Candice added:

“At Christmas time people do like to stretch their culinary muscles and they are looking for more unusual ingredients such as truffle honey, caviar, squid ink, pancetta or more unusual spices.

“We find that the pre-order service has become increasingly popular as customers have cottoned on to how civilised it is. They can spend time with us before all the Christmas madness starts and order exactly what they need. Whilst many ordered our in-house specialities like Hand-Raised Game Pie, or our signature pates, most have started to add all the standard products on like onions and carrots so that they simply have to a one stop collection. The goods are bagged and ready to collect at a time that suits them – most people choose to pick up their feast on either the 23rd or the 24th December.”

The Food Hall also is a hamper heaven. The staff pride themselves on being able to create an ideal hamper for just about anyone. Foodie or not, there is always a selection of products that can be tailored to suit. Whether it’s someone partial to a ‘Liverpool Gin & Tonic’, a chocolate lover, coffee lover, beer lover, Spain lover or someone obsessed with marshmallows, Delifonseca can create a hamper to suit. These can be shipped to anywhere in the UK. Another thing to tick off the Christmas list.

The Christmas menu at Fonseca’s is available between December 2-24.The lunchtime service runs from 12pm-2:30pm and costs £27.95 per person. The evening service runs from 5pm-9.30pm and costs £34.95 per person including half a bottle of wine each. The Christmas menu at Delifonseca Dockside is available between December 2-24 and costs £29.50.

The last guaranteed date to place a Christmas food order is Monday 21st Dec although orders after that will still be taken and best fulfilled. A £10 deposit will be taken for orders under £50 and approximately 20% of the value on larger orders.
