Four new partners have been created at BDO in Liverpool with three of the four having started as trainees at the accountancy firm.

They are James Fieldhouse in the mergers and acquisitions team, Lucy Mistry and Sakib Isa, both in audit, and Vince Walker in the tax team.

Since July this year, BDO has taken on nearly 100 individuals in Liverpool including a cohort of 30 Industrial Placement students to support increased demand from across the UK-wide firm.

It has established a number of partnerships with charities and social mobility providers to improve accessibility to the sector for individuals from broad socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

And the firm has launched an apprenticeship scheme for existing employees in Liverpool who are looking to upskill and gain an accountancy qualification.

Angela Cross, head of BDO in the North West, said: “Announcing this latest raft of promotions is my highlight since taking the role of regional managing partner as it’s a celebration and recognition of the strength of our team across all specialisms.

“We are committed to helping all of our people succeed – whatever that looks like to them. Every colleague who has been promoted should be incredibly proud and I’m thrilled to congratulate them all.”

66 of the Liverpool promotions have been made within the BDO’s shared service centre. Nigel Britton, partner and head of shared services at BDO, added: “We have a number of key relationships in place with colleges and universities.
