Mental health in the workplace is an issue employers can no longer ignore

In an increasingly litigious business environment it pays for employers to minimise their risks of getting caught up in costly legal actions.

Membership organisation Professional Liverpool is teaming up with Liverpool city region firms McIver Scott Recruitment and Clearlink HR to host an event in November – ‘Mitigating Risk and Maximising Potential’.

Taking place at the Cotton Exchange in Old Hall Street, Liverpool, on Tuesday, November 14, the seminar will feature expert speakers, who will talk about employment law and tribunals, mental health in the workplace, physical wellbeing, and recruiting and building ‘high performance teams’. They are:

  • Phil Bramhall, managing director of Bramhalls Solicitors, which specialises in employment law. He is described as “straight talking… and you won’t get lost in legal jargon”.
  • Catherine Lockett, managing director of ClearlinkHR who has a law degree and a Masters in personnel and development. She has worked with many clients to provide a support structure that can address mental health challenges.
  • Patrick Mulligan, clinic director at Pall Mall Physio who has a background in professional sports. He helps employers to take a proactive approach to the physical wellbeing of their staff.
  • David Wafer, managing director of award-winning McIver Scott Recruitment who has built teams from scratch to a £10m-plus turnover and achieved a 100% score in the Great Place to Work survey.

The event runs from 11am to 1.30pm and is free to Professional Liverpool members and costs £26.18 (incl VAT) for non members. To book a place click here.
