A £3m internal refurbishment project at Liverpool office building 20 Chapel Street is now complete.

Commercial property specialist Canmoor has undertaken a rolling programme of works to the 15-storey building over the last 15 months, to vacant floors, communal areas and WCs as well as a complete transformation of the ground floor reception area.

Canmoor purchased the 155,000 sq ft site last year for just under £20m on behalf of British Airways Pension Trustees.

The reception area revamp includes a new café space, occupied by Liverpool-based independent coffee shop operator, Bean Coffee.

Final work on the project was the converting two office suites on the 12th floor into a single 7,917 sq ft floorplate offering panoramic views of the city and waterfront.

Sam Walker, director at Canmoor, said: “Liverpool’s shortage of grade A office space has been well documented, and this was why we felt investing in 20 Chapel Street, which holds such a prominent position within the city’s commercial district, was so important.

Feedback from tenants on the upgrade works has been very positive and has generated increased interest in the remaining 25,000 sq ft of available space.”

CBRE and Worthington Owen are joint agents on 20 Chapel Street.
