Carringtons Catering appointed official food & beverage provider for historic ACL ship christening

Having fed Her Majesty The Queen earlier this year, Carringtons Catering has delivered the royal treatment once again, as part of the monumental Atlantic Container Line (ACL) ship christening of The Atlantic Sea.

The maritime spectacle performed by HRH Princess Anne was the first of its kind on the Mersey since 1960, making it a historic achievement for the independent catering business, which was responsible for organising both the breakfast in the cruise liner terminal and the lunch on board.

Director of Carringtons Catering and Master Chef of Great Britain Darren Wynn said:

“What an honour it has been to have catered for a trio of events this year that have seen members of the Royal Family in attendance.

“Not only was it a delight to meet Princess Anne once again, the team and I are so grateful to have been a part of a day that celebrated the city’s world-famous maritime heritage including its port and vessels, all the while making Liverpool history.”

Guests were welcomed with hot drinks and breakfast favourites and later treated to Champagne and canapés on the bridge of The Atlantic Sea.

With more than 35 years’ experience in the catering industry, Carringtons Catering is one of the North West’s longest standing independent firms, providing bespoke catering, event and hospitality services for a range of corporate and private occasions. High-profile clients include royals, sports related personalities, prominent business figures and authorities.

Director Helen Wynn added:

“Words can’t justify the pride that the team and I feel when catering for royalty and prestigious occasions such as the ACL ship christening. As an event that captured the heart of the city and will go down in Liverpool maritime history, we are thrilled to have been on board – literally!”
