European café and cake house opens in Liverpool city centre

The new patisserie-style eatery, Wake & Cate, opened on Tarleton Street, last week.

Hitchcock Wright & Partners secured the city centre unit on behalf of tenant Wake & Cate on a 10 year lease.

The 4,000 sq ft unit, previously occupied by Paul Rooney solicitors, is situated on 13-17 Tarleton Street, off Williamson square.

Modelled on the upmarket delicatessens of European city districts, the new concept patisserie offers a wide variety of sweet treats, including French and Italian style gateaux, Anatolian tray bakes, and homemade macaroons.

The eatery also offers a selection of traditional hot savoury filo pastries, as well as deli sandwiches and panini.

George Dadoudis, director of Wake & Cate, says:

“We spent a couple of years researching different locations including London, Birmingham and Manchester. However, Liverpool really struck us.

“We were very impressed with its favourable commercial conditions, friendly people and its track record in welcoming new food concepts. So much so that we have invested over £400K in this venture, a venture which we are very passionate about and we are sure will be embraced by the local community.”

“Wake & Cate’s new European café and cake house is a new and exciting addition to the city’s thriving food and drink offering. With the revamp of St John’s close by, the eatery will certainly add to the regeneration and commercial attraction of the area.”

Wake & Cate is open daily from 8am to 9pm and is situated on Tarleton Street, off Williamson Square.
