Help Wirral’s homeless by running 5k and eating a slice of pizza

Merseyside homeless charity Wirral Ark is inviting people to take part in a ‘pizza-themed’ fun run this spring.
Wirral Ark, which provides a safe place for homeless people to stay while offering the support needed to turn their lives around, has organised the event which will take place in Birkenhead Park on Saturday, April 20.
Runners will take on the 5k route around the park and must then finish a slice of pizza to complete the run. The run is open to families with children, and an adult runner must accompany under-16s. Each finisher will receive a Wirral Ark Pizza Run t-shirt and medal.
Dogs are welcome to take part and must be registered in advance. There are medals for canine finishers too that can be engraved afterwards.
Pauline Cox, fundraiser at Wirral Ark, said: “We wanted an event that the whole family and all abilities could enjoy together, whether you walk, run, jog, push a buggy, it’s open to all.”
Wirral Ark is asking people to register in advance by clicking here. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £25 each in sponsorship, which will help Wirral Ark continue their work with the homeless in Merseyside.
Wirral Ark Services include a health clinic for rough sleepers, alcohol project for street drinkers, training and activity centre to support people to regain lost skills and confidence, and projects to support social inclusion and community re-engagement.
