Independent bistro offer standard and deluxe menu to festive diners

Independent deli and bistro in Liverpool city centre, Bretta&Co. is launching its Christmas menu, ready for the run up to the festive season.

The bistro, run by brother and sister duo Gary and Bretta Adlen, will have two mouth-watering menus on offer to diners, a standard Christmas Menu and a luxury Christmas menu, which will have you counting down the days until 25 December.

The standard Christmas menu features three courses, with tempting options available. Guests will be able to choose from starters such as ham and pea terrine or parsnip tart with heritage glazed tomato concasse, followed by wood pigeon or nut roast, as well as stuffed cut of turkey for mains, accompanied by a medley of vegetables and slow roasted heritage organic potatoes in goose fat.

If you have room for dessert after all that delicious food, then for dessert you can choose between winter fruit meringue, baked New York cheesecake or dark chocolate pretzel tart. All this is available for £24.95 per person.

If you want to splash out this Christmas or New Year, why not try Bretta&Co.’s luxury menu? With a trio of organic soups as an entrée followed by starters including honeyed quail with a savoury tuile and mini herb garden salad, the main course is truly outstanding with options such as suckling pig to share for four, coffee and mint crumb lamb rack to share or on the bone rib of beef carved at the table.

All mains will be accompanied by vegetables such as sous vide parsnips glazed in honey and cinnamon, cauliflower cheese in a special black bomber cheese sauce, and three day ale cooked gravy.

In addition, the team are keeping the dessert options secret, and only hinting that the dishes will be feature a Christmas inspired medley of flavours, as well as what will be a delicious cheese board.

The luxury Christmas menu is priced at £70 per person for three courses, including a glass of finest Champagne, selected from the deli’s envy-inducing French wine offering.

Bretta&Co. will serve the Christmas menus from 1st December until 6th January, excluding Christmas Day, and the bistro will be open on New Year’s Day till 6pm. 10% service charge applies with bookings over eight people.
