Inflation falls to 1.5%
Figures released today by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) show that inflation contines to drop and has now fallen to 1.5%.
The headline rate decreased in May by 0.3% on April’s figure.
This figure has suprised analysts who are suggesting that the drop is on account of lower transport costs and air fares in particular.
Food, non-alcoholic beverages and clothing are also being highlighted as contributors to the fall.
